From Manhattan to Montauk, Denise R. Schoen has developed a distinguished career in the fields of zoning, planning, land use, environmental, and municipal and real estate law.  Denise’s career in law began after she was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 1998 and admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.  She started her law career in the litigation department of Dewey & LeBoeuf in Manhattan where she worked on corporate litigation matters.

After several years in the city, Denise moved back to her hometown of East Hampton where she gratefully served as an Assistant East Hampton Town Attorney representing both the Zoning Board and Planning Board.  Denise later joined the firm Twomey, Latham, Shea, Kelley, Dubin & Quartararo LLP in Riverhead and East Hampton where her practice was concentrated on land use and planning matters along with residential real estate transactions.  Denise became partners with former East Hampton High School classmates, Jonathan Tarbet and Brian Lester, in April of 2007. After six years of building a large network of loyal clients with partners, Jon Tarbet and Brian Lester, in Amagansett, Denise set down roots in her hometown of East Hampton upon opening her own law practice, The Law Offices of Denise R. Schoen, PLLC. She has continued to serve her own clientele through that practice alongside her dedicated Paralegal, Astrid Edwards.

Denise currently resides in Sag Harbor with her husband Jon and daughters, Sara and Emily.  She is an active member of her community having served as a Member of the Sag Harbor Village Zoning Board of Appeals and also the Board of Architectural and Historic Preservation.  She is currently a Sag Harbor Village Attorney representing its Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Architectural and Historic Preservation, and Harbor Committee.  Along with these Boards, she also serves the Village as its prosecutor of local zoning and parking regulations.  She is honored to represent these local municipal boards, which are comprised of dedicated local citizens, who volunteer their precious time to help maintain and shape the beauty and character of our world-renowned community.
In addition to her position as a Village Attorney, Denise has also served on the Board of Directors for the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Sag Harbor Community Housing Trust, and presently for the Reutershan Trust, an educational trust that fosters artistic programs in local public schools.  In addition to helping those in need in her legal career, Denise is most passionate about helping those individuals who require emergency pre-hospital medical care.  She is certified as a Critical Care Emergency Medical Technician and had been a member of the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps for more than a decade.
