Denise has made being a part of her community an integral component of both her her professional and personal life. She has volunteered her time to local municipal boards. She now represents the Sag Harbor Village Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board, Harbor Committee, and the Board of Historic Preservation and Architectural Review. She also prosecutes local zoning code violations and defends the Village in litigation commenced by applicants who are aggrieved by those boards.

In addition to her work representing the Village, she has also represented her hometown of East Hampton by acting as counsel to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

In contrast to her work for municipalities, she also represents private applicants in land use and zoning matters. She also represents those applicants when they are aggrieved by local boards by commencing legal proceedings, known as Article 78 actions, against the offending boards.

She has had the opportunity to view these municipal matters from both the perspective of the municipality and the perspective of the applicant gaining the knowledge and experience to competently represent and advise both in a wide range of matters.
